Timothy Osborn, MD, DDS, FACS
Meet Dr. Osborn
Dr. Osborn grew up in Rochester, Minnesota (the home of the Mayo Clinic) where he discovered a passion for the surgical arts. He spent many days and nights with his dad on call wandering the halls of one of the world’s finest medical institutions and knew the calling was to healthcare. It wasn’t until undergraduate studies that it became clear a path to the NFL wasn’t in the cards, so what to do next? He happened to visit many different practitioners and happened to see many different types of surgeries, but settled on the head and neck after seeing reconstructive jaw surgery. Dr. Osborn completed undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Minnesota where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 2004. He then travelled west to Oregon where he attended medical school receiving his medical degree (M.D.), 2-years training in general surgery, and his vast training in cranio-maxillofacial surgery and aesthetic facial plastic surgery.
Similar to training in Europe for cranio-maxillofacial (CMF) surgeons, the training program in Oregon offered diverse training across all surgical disciplines understanding that diverse training across the body leads to excellence and expertise in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Osborn had the good fortune to train under pioneers in the field of Cranio-Maxillofacial (CMF) surgery who recognized the need for this style of training in the USA.
After his training, Dr. Osborn came east to New England and was in practice for 2 years just outside of Boston where he expanded his skill set and improved the lives and appearances of many patients. Understanding the need to pass on a similar type of training to new generations of surgeons, Dr. Osborn accepted a faculty appointment at Boston University, Boston Medical Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centers. For 7 years he has educated and trained the future of CMF surgery, been involved in research, and development of innovative techniques and procedures in his field.
Based on a desire to deliver expert and definitive care in a private clinic setting, Dr. Osborn has opened C.M.F.-Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Associates. The practice joins decades of excellence provided by Dr. Shibly Malouf and Richard Sorbera, and will continue their commitment to patient care. The practice will deliver excellence in clinical care for patients needing surgical services of the head and neck, facial reconstruction, aesthetic surgery, facial pain disorders, oral surgical care, and neurologic surgery of the cranial nerves. The practice will grow and thrive, add new services and providers, all with our grounding in the commitment to treating our patients, their family and friends as we would our own. We are grateful that you have come to the site and I look forward to doing anything we can to help achieve your goals.
