Kamyar Giglou, DMD, CAGS
Meet Dr. Giglou
Dr. Kam Giglou began his academic career at the University of Toronto where he double-majored in human biology and physiology. As the most prestigious University (the Canadian Harvard), the fact that Dr. Giglou graduated with honors and high distinction demonstrates his impressive intellect. After undergraduate studies, Dr. Giglou continued his tour of elite schools by moving to the Ivy League and attending dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. At UPenn, Dr. Giglou excelled in his coursework and pursued his interest in the surgical arts. He was heavily involved with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department learning clinical skills, and was a student-leader earning a number of awards including the “Best Teaching Award.” Dr. Giglou completed numerous electives in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across the country and ultimately was accepted to the residency at Boston University.
The residency at BU was rigorous and diverse training in surgery including general surgery, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, anesthesiology, and trauma surgery. In his specialty, Dr. Giglou had rotations through Boston University Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the VA Hospitals. This training in unique environments with exposure to comprehensive craniofacial surgery was formative for his career after training.
Dr. Giglou now applies his impressive training to his practice specializing in several areas of maxillofacial and oral surgery. He is an expert in the delivery of in-office anesthesia, wisdom tooth removal, and combined orthodontic-surgical therapy. Dr. Giglou is one of only a few surgeons who is experienced in full-mouth dental rehabilitation with dental implants including “All-on-4” and “Teeth-in-a-day” concepts. He is also well-versed in the treatment of facial trauma, reconstructive jaw surgery, and management of head and neck tumors.
Dr. Giglou is a welcome addition to the CMF team where he will provide care for our patients at an exceptional level. Whether it is for wisdom tooth removal, reconstructive jaw surgery, or any of his other areas of expertise, you will be well looked after.
